The moment my parents and I heard the words, “The tests have confirmed you have cancer,” I knew our lives would never be the same. My mother, the person receiving that diagnosis, was obviously affected the most. What I came to realize is in that moment, I also joined a new cohort of working professionals who leverage leadership skills outside of work as well as at work, in order to navigate a myriad of new decisions and choices and be with my family as much as possible, while also continuing my career.
