COVID-19 update April 24, 2020

From:     Deb Veit

Date:     April 24th ,  2020

Dear Oak Meadows tenants and families,

We continue to feel very blessed to be able to say we do not have any positive COVID-19 cases in our building.  Thank you for continuing to shelter in place, wear your masks if you have to go out and keep 6 feet from all people.  As cases in MN continue to increase we must do everything we can to keep each and every one of us safe and healthy. The State “Stay at Home” order goes until at least May 4th. But as the Governor has said this could change and even if that order is lifted it will likely be lifted in stages. So for us at Oak Meadows that will mean we too will likely do things in stages. For now we must continue to shelter in place and I will notify you of changes as we are able to make them.

  • Staff will continue to wear masks. Remember this does not mean anyone is sick. We are doing this to protect our tenants. We are not sick. We will definitely notify you and your families if we were to develop a positive case of COVID at Oak Meadows.

  • Each of you now has one handmade mask. They can be washed in between uses and we ask if you need to go into the hallway, to the laundry room or outside please wear your mask. This offers another level of protection for each of you. But this does NOT mean we have lifted our shelter in place restrictions. We hope to deliver another mask to you next week.

  • The beauty salon must follow the policies of the Board of Cosmetology so they cannot open back up until their Board has approved it. I will let you know as soon as I know those details.

  • Please remember that all deliveries MUST come to the Pines main entrance. Anyone that does need to come in to the building or drop packages off must come to that entrance to have their temp checked and sign in and drop off any deliveries. Please do not have family drop things off at the Ponds entrance.

  • I cannot stress enough how important it is for us to continue to shelter in place, restrict visitors and stay away from the public places and stay away from stores. The better we do at this the sooner we will put an end to the spread of this virus. If you must leave for a doctor appt please let me know so we can be aware of places our tenants have had to go to in the event we were to have a positive case. It helps for tracking purposes.

  • If you are not feeling well, please call our receptionist immediately.

  • Thank you for all of the families who have been so generous donating items to put in all of your black bags. We are so grateful for the generosity and kindness we have received.

  • Please call me anytime with questions. I am happy to answer any questions you might have.

Blessings to each of you and thank you for all of your cooperation with maintaining our building policies during this time.  We know this will get better but it is going to take time.

Sincerely,

~ Deb Veit, Executive Director
