Resident author speaks about her book 2021

Oak Meadows is most fortunate to have a published author in our midst! Joan has lived at Oak Meadows for almost 4 years. She wrote the book before she moved in. We were mesmerized as she did a talk on her book, and many residents and family members bought a copy. Call Kim if you would like one. They are only $5!

We were also fortunate that during Covid, Joan wrote a weekly piece that we delivered to every apartment. There are some of her writings on our website.  We will be turning them into a book as well, as they give the perspective of a resident living in senior housing during time of Covid.

Joan’s novel “Tenderwise” is about living in the present-although, in the course of it’s story, the past must be revisited in order to discover the future. The book’s prose is precise and bright, capturing the allure and timelessness of New York City, and clear pictures of events from Liz’s life emerge.
