Re:         COVID update

Dear Oak Meadows tenants and families,

Important update:  As of today we have 8 confirmed positive COVID cases. 6 tenants in memory care and 2 staff.  All of memory care is in quarantine at this time. The staff are recovering at home.  I will continue to update you as things change but unfortunately we may likely get more positives.

All Pines tenants and Ebenezer staff were tested today. Oak Meadows staff will be tested on Tuesday. We will not be offering testing in the Ponds at this time. If tenants in the Ponds feel the need to be tested please call your doctor’s office immediately.

At this time we will continue to allow Essential Caregivers ONLY into the Ponds and Pines. No unnecessary visits please. Absolutely NO visitors will be allowed in to memory care.  We ask that Essential Caregivers try to limit how much you need to come in during this surge of positive cases in our State. Please remember that  NO ONE is allowed to come in to our building without prior authorization and getting checked at the receptionist desk.  Remember even asymptomatic people can spread the virus.

Governor Walz has issued a 4 week shut down of many activities. This is a crucial time for us to do what we need to do to prevent further spread of this virus.  Everyone please follow State recommendations for staying home, staying away from gatherings and to wear your mask at all times. These next 4 weeks are a critical time for us. We must use all precautions possible.

Our staff are doing everything they can to keep everyone safe. Our nursing staff are especially under tremendous stress right now. They are scared, tired and working very hard to care for those who are sick. Please lift them up in your prayers and if you have a minute to write a little note of thanks to our nursing and activities staff I know it would be very much appreciated. This pandemic is not what any of us ever imagined we would be going through in our lives.

Please wish our Oak Meadows 102 year old, Don Jones, a very happy birthday this weekend!  See a video of Don on our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/oakmeadows.seniorliving)
