Covid-19 update 11-18-2020
Important update: As of today we have 5 confirmed positive COVID cases. 4 tenants in memory care and 1 staff. All of memory care is in quarantine at this time. The staff person is at home. I will continue to update you as things change.
There will be a mass testing in assisted living and memory care on Friday. All staff will be getting tested as well. We will not be offering testing in the Ponds at this time. If you feel the need to be tested please call your doctors office.
We continue to only allow Essential Caregivers into the Ponds and Pines. Absolutely NO visitors will be allowed in to memory care. We ask that Essential Caregivers try to limit how much you need to come in during this surge of positive cases in our State. Please remember that NO ONE is allowed to come in to our building without prior authorization and getting checked at the receptionist desk. If you are able to go to a testing site to get tested I recommend you do so especially before coming to see your loved one at Oak Meadows. Even asymptomatic people can spread the virus.
Governor Walz is announcing tonight a 4 week shut down of many activities. This is a crucial time for us to do what we need to do to prevent further spread of this virus. We encourage all tenants, staff and families to follow State recommendations for staying home, staying away from gatherings and to wear your mask at all times. These next 4 weeks are a critical time for us. We must use all precautions possible.
We understand the frustrations and challenges everyone is dealing with right now. We understand wanting to see your loved one here at Oak Meadows. Please know that many staff at Oak Meadows are not seeing their families either in order to protect our tenants. Help us keep everyone here safe and healthy.
If you have any questions please feel free to email or call me.
Sincerely,
Deb Veit, Executive Director
