Staff member accepted into leadership class

Kudos to Jane Gandrud, our Office/Financial Manager, on getting accepted into the Nollau Leadership Institute of the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM). For the 2020-2021 class.  Oak Meadows is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the MN Conference of the United Church of Christ and is a member of the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries of the UCC.

Jane will be attending three retreats to learn what it means to be a Servant Leader.  As the website states: What difference does it make to be a leader with faith? Do our beliefs shape our actions? Do our religious convictions and traditions simply soften the hard edges of leadership as commonly understood, or does our faith compel a profound reorientation to what it means to lead?”

Jane has been at Oak Meadows for 19+ years and these questions have been at the core of her work. With Jane’s acceptance into the Nollau Institute this will entail 3 retreats over the next 12 months doing in-depth exploration of identity and calling, theory and theology, as well as an introduction to individual and communal practices of integrated leadership.  In-between retreats she will be interacting with the class by phone and email.   She will then present her findings at the CHHSM Annual meeting.
