Mounds Park Academy students brighten our day
For the past 15 years Kim Prayfrock has been teaching “aging” to students at Mounds Park Academy second grade students. Her co-worker, Megan Longville joined her in doing this 6 years ago.
The month of May was “Older American’s Month.” Mounds Park teaches aging the entire month of May. Kim and Megan teach them what it’s like “to be old.” The students wear marbles in their shoes, have their fingers taped to have “arthritis”, wear glasses with vaseline smeared on the lenses to have “cataracts or glaucoma” , plug their ears for a hearing loss and practice opening medicine bottles (full of skittles.)
This is a note Megan received from one of our tenants.
