Oakdale, MN, proud history and promising future
A proud history and a promising future.
Over 621 businesses call Oakdale “home” and offer abundant shopping, over 30 restaurants and coffee shops, two movie theaters, a variety of fitness centers, banks, and an array of professional services and the Oakdale Business and Professional Association encourages you to “Shop Oakdale”.
Oakdale is a community ripe with leisure pursuits; our 25 parks include the Oakdale Nature Preserve and its “jewel”, the Discovery Center at 4444 Hadley. The Discovery Center offers educational exhibits as well as the works of local artists and artisans. The facility also has cozy seating, reception facilities, and an outdoor amphitheater nestled inside of a 220-acre scenic, wooded park with miles of trails. There is also a historic one-room schoolhouse nearby. The Recreation Department, housed in the Discovery Center, holds many fun and interesting programs and events including the Mystery Egg Hunt, Outdoor Play Day, Indoor Market, and Winter Wonderland. Walton Park, adjacent to City Hall, hosts a variety of free concerts throughout the summer, an array of family-oriented events throughout the year, a renowned skateboard facility, weekly farmers market, and the site of the city’s annual celebrations: Summerfest and the Fourth of July Extravaganza. Other recreation offerings in the city include easy access to the State of Minnesota’s Gateway Trail and the Oak Marsh Golf Course.
All this…and home to Oak Meadows too! It’s a great place to live!
