Dear Oak Meadows tenants and families,
Important update: As of today we have 13 confirmed positive COVID cases. 10 tenants in memory care and 3 staff. All of memory care is in quarantine at this time. The positive staff are recovering at home. We have some tenants with mild symptoms and some with more serious symptoms.
All Pines tenants and Ebenezer staff were tested last Friday and those tests came back negative. Please pray we can keep it that way. Oak Meadows staff are being tested Tuesday morning. Ponds tenants are not being tested at this time but I encourage you to call your doctors office if you experience any symptoms at all.
At this time we will continue to allow Essential Caregivers ONLY into the Ponds and Pines, as long as we have no positive cases in those areas. No unnecessary visits please. Absolutely NO visitors will be allowed in to memory care. We ask that Essential Caregivers try to limit how much you need to come in during this surge of positive cases in our State. Please remember that NO ONE is allowed to come in to our building without prior authorization and getting checked at the receptionist desk. Remember even asymptomatic people can spread this virus. Our protocol is for your safety, the safety of our staff and for the safety of visitors.
Also remember that our State is in a 4 week lockdown. This is a crucial time for us to do what we need to do to prevent further spread of this virus. Everyone please follow State recommendations for staying home, staying away from gatherings and to wear your mask at all times. These next 4 weeks are a critical time for us. We must use all precautions possible.
Our staff are doing everything they can to keep everyone safe. Our nursing staff are especially under tremendous stress right now. They are scared, tired and working very hard to care for those who are sick. Please lift them up in your prayers. And do your part by wearing your mask, social distancing and washing your hands frequently.
I know this will be a very different Thanksgiving this year. I am going to miss seeing my children too. But we all must do our part to stop this virus from spreading. All of our tenants and staff will enjoy a lovely turkey dinner served by our dining staff on Thanksgiving day and for that we can be very thankful! Gobble! Gobble!
