COVID-19 update March 20, 2020

3-20-2020

Our situation with the Coronavirus is changing daily and hourly. This past weekend the Governor shut down all schools and social gatherings, and just today all restaurants. In response to the new mandates we at Oak Meadows will be following the state guidelines for social distancing to reduce the potential spread of this deadly virus. At this point in time Oak Meadows does not have any tenant with any illness. Let’s keep it that way! Please read below.

The dining room will be closed immediately. All meals will be delivered to tenants apartments. There will be one standard option for all meals.

Ponds tenants may order a meal to be delivered to your apartment. Call the receptionist to order and please place your order the day before so we have time to prepare.

All activities, including Bible study and worship are cancelled.

Please do not go get your mail. We will bring it to you apartment.

We will be hanging a bag on your apartment door. Please check your bag regularly and keep it hanging on your door as we will place your mail in there and other fun activities and treats.

Please tune in to our channel 2 regularly for updates and messages.

The Beauty/Barber shop will be closed.

All deliveries of packages, groceries or medications must be delivered at the Pines entrance and staff will deliver them to your apartment.

If you need something from the Oak Meadows store you can call the receptionist and we will deliver to your apartment. Please keep purchases important items only.

Please stay in your apartment as much as possible. Social distancing is a very important way to reduce the transmission of this virus. I cannot emphasize that enough.

Effective immediately we will be restricting all visits to tenants. Visits must be considered necessary visits only. Please do not visit unless it is absolutely necessary.

Tenants on hospice care can receive 1-2 visitors at a time.

Non-essential people will not be allowed in our building.  We will not be doing tours.

We are encouraging tenants to please not leave the building unless absolutely necessary.

All visitors must pass our Wellness Check system posted at each entrance.

Anyone, including staff, must get their temperature checked at the receptionist desk before going anywhere in our building.

Anyone that comes in to our building must sign in before entering.

Use hand sanitizer or wash hands when coming in building and when leaving.

If you have been traveling domestically or internationally please refrain from visiting at Oak Meadows for 14 days.

If you would like to Skype, please call Megan Longville, Activity Director at 651-350-3623 or email mlongville@oak-meadows.org

We will be closing the fire doors between the Ponds and Pines buildings in order to limit traffic between buildings.

We have cancelled all outings until mid April.

If you need any store items or groceries that you are not able to get we have volunteers who are willing to go to the store for our tenants. Please contact Megan to set this up.

You can also order groceries on line to be delivered to you but please tell them they must deliver them to the Pines entrance and our staff will deliver the items to your apartment. DO NOT have delivery people come directly to your apartment.

I know this is a very difficult situation for all of you. I promise you we will do our best to keep you constantly updated and our staff are working hard to make this situation as easy on our tenants as we can.

In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected with local updates and to check the Oak Meadows website and Facebook page for any changes to our visiting policies and check our channel 2 regularly to see messages. We need your help to keep our tenants healthy. Please wash your hands frequently with soap and water. If you have questions or concerns don’t hesitate to contact us.
